(William was born in 1799 in Westmoreland County, PA. ) William's previous wife was a Margaret Peck or Baker. Mar garet died in 1830 in Armstrong County giving birth to her eight h child, Henry. (Henry served in the 103rd Pennsylvania, Co mpany D. He was captured in Plymouth, North Carolina in Apr il of 1864. He died in Andersonville Prison in June, 1864. ) Sarah and Willam had 7 children before packing up and leaving fo r the state of Wisconsin in 1855. All 8 of William and Marg aret's children stayed in the state of Pennsylvania.
